From experience, we know that where you stay is as important as where you play golf. The Golf Travel Co. offers a wide selection of hotel options throughout England to satisfy our clients needs. Where available, we try to offer a range of options. Please note that all hotels we use include private bathrooms. All hotels are regularly inspected by The Golf Travel Co. to insure a consistent level of quality and service. Our Golf Tour Specialists will discuss your options and recommend the appropriate hotel for your vacation. In order to assist with your hotel selection please find a brief description of each category we use:

FIRST CLASS: Properties in this category generally have fewer amenities but are comfortably furnished, have a quality level of service and are considered a great value. They are generally 3-Star properties.

SUPERIOR FIRST CLASS: Most accommodations in this category are 4-Star rated and have an even higher level of service and some additional in room and hotel amenities.

COUNTRY HOUSE: This category includes properties that have a more unique and intimate setting. Each Country House in this category possesses it's own distinctive characteristics. They all offer a high level of service.

DELUXE: Hotels in this group provide the highest level of service, superb room furnishings and offer the most on-site amenities. They are predominantly 5-Star.

The accommodations we offer have been selected for a variety of reasons. Most notably, they consistently receive high marks from previous The Golf Travel Co. travelers. In addition, the accommodations are ideally situated near the golf courses and the hotel staff understand the special needs of the golf traveler. Regardless of your choice we know you will enjoy the hotels as much as the golf.

The following descriptions highlight many of our featured properties. We also utilize a number of other hotels throughout England when appropriate to the individual clients' needs.  

Lancashire Coast / Midlands

Superior First Class

Scarisbrick Hotel (Southport). Ideally situated in the heart of Southport's tree-lined main boulevard, this traditional hotel offers the discerning visitor the highest standards of accommodation, cuisine and service. Close to the Promenade, Floral Hall, Arts Center and only twelve miles from the motorway network. The Scarisbrick has ninety well appointed bedrooms, all recently refurbished, with en-suite facilities, satellite TV and teletext, direct dial telephone, hospitality tray, trouser press, iron and hair dryer. Connoisseur's Tip: Great in town location. Primary Area Courses: Royal Birkdale, Southport & Ainsdale, Hillside, Formby, West Lancashire, Royal Lytham, Royal Liverpool.

Country House

Cambridge Town House Hotel (Southport). The warmest of welcomes, attention to your needs and unobtrusive service all await you here. Cambridge Town House Hotel offers a delightful environment with elegant Victorian furniture combined with spacious rooms which are comfortable and relaxing. Their friendly service and charming staff are all that you would expect with a well run establishment. The lounge is designed with the utmost care and attention, in the knowledge that after a great day out guests would like to unwind in beautiful relaxing surroundings. And for those who wish to chat over a drink after a meeting or day on the golf course, there is a warm and cozy bar where you can enjoy your favorite tipple. Deluxe

Crabwall Manor (Chester). A traditional English country manor house hotel set in eleven acres of beautiful Cheshire countryside overlooking the historic City of Chester. Crabwall Manor has 48 spacious bedrooms, all luxuriously appointed and individually designed with views across to Chester and North Wales. It has a newly opened health and fitness spa and a three AA Rossette award winning restaurant with an extensive and admired wine selection. Connoisseur's Tip: The nearby town of Chester is well worth a visit. Primary Area Courses: Royal Liverpool, Wallasey.

The Belfry (near Birmingham). A beautiful, ivy-clad world-renowned resort hotel, The Belfry enjoys an enviable reputation and is set in its own landscaped gardens surrounded by two outstanding golf courses including the famous Brabazon, home to the 1985, 1989, 1993 and 2002 Ryder Cups. It has a fully equipped leisure club with swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, snooker room and jogging trail. Four superb restaurants offer exquisite cuisine from the gourmet French Restaurant to the more traditional Carvery. Their five bars include the sophisticated Belfry Bar and the Spike Bar located in the Golf Clubhouse. Located in the seclusion of the grounds is the Bel-Air Night Club. Nearby are Warwick Castle and the stately home of Weston Park. Connoisseur's Tip: A golf resort with every amenity you could ask for and so much Ryder Cup history. Primary Area Courses: Belfry-Brabazon, Belfry-Derby.

London Area

Superior First Class

Cumberland Hotel (London). Conveniently located on the corner of Park Lane and Oxford Street, adjacent to Marble Arch tube station, the famous Cumberland Hotel offers quick easy access to all areas of the West End. Its guests enjoy a wide range of facilities including four restaurants and four bars. Connoisseur's Tip: Inexpensive but quality hotel close to everything. Primary Area Courses: Stoke Poges, Sunningdale, Walton Heath, Wentworth.

Country House

Franklin Hotel (London). The Franklin is located in a secluded, tree-lined garden-square right in the heart of Knightsbridge, two minutes walk from Harrods. The hotel is under the same ownership as the popular Egerton House. It's 50 air-conditioned bedrooms and suites reflect an aura of understated elegance and discreet good taste. Each room offers a blend of fine antiques and fine paintings, complemented by traditional fabrics. All rooms have en-suite marble bathrooms, two line direct-dial telephones with dataport, satellite television and private bar. There are two drawing rooms overlooking the gardens and an honor bar which is open 24 hours. The dining room is very popular at breakfast time. Friendly and courteous staff provide full concierge, valet and 24-hour room service. Primary Area Courses: Stoke Poges, Sunningdale, Walton Heath, Wentworth.

Berystede Hotel (Ascot). Built in 1850, this Victorian Manor House has been sympathetically modernized into a grand country hotel set in nine acres of mature gardens and woodlands. Only five minutes from the famous Ascot racecourse and fifteen minutes from Windsor. It is also ideally located just a short drive from both Wentworth and Sunningdale golf courses. Connoisseur's Tip: Good option close to all of the major courses. Primary Area Courses: Stoke Poges, Sunningdale, Walton Heath, Wentworth.

Deluxe

Montcalm Nikko Hotel (London). One of London's top luxury hotels, offers 120 spacious rooms, duplexes and suites for the discriminating traveler. The hotel is a serene oasis in the heart of London. Located on a quiet, tree-lined Georgian crescent in the exclusive Marble Arch neighborhood of London's West End, the hotel is just steps from Hyde Park and Oxford Street, yet miles from the hustle and bustle of city life. From the critically acclaimed breakfast to the fax and work area in every room, no detail has been spared to make your stay most comfortable. Connoisseur's Tip: Great value for a deluxe hotel. Stoke Park Club (Stoke Poges). Stoke Park Club is a very special place. With a recorded history of more than nine hundred years, the 350 acre estate provides a unique combination of the traditions of a great members club and the best of today's sporting, leisure, entertaining and hotel facilities in one of the most convenient locations in Britain. Stoke Park Club offers 21 exquisite bedrooms, to members and non-members alike, boasting the finest interior design and comfort. Many of the rooms open onto terraces where guests can enjoy breakfast or evening drinks overlooking the parkland and gardens. Each bedroom and suite is individually decorated with antiques, paintings and original prints, satellite television, direct dial telephones, ISDN line, superb marble en-suite bathrooms with heated floors and mirrors, cast iron baths and most have marble showers. Southeast Coast

First Class

The Bell Hotel (Sandwich). Overlooking the historic Quay of the ancient Cinque Port of Sandwich, The Bell Hotel offers traditional comfort and outstanding cuisine. The Bell itself has stood on its present site since the early 17th century, although an earlier Bell Inn was certainly in existence in Sandwich from the 14th century and reputedly hosted Queen Elizabeth I. Although no longer host to monarchs, The Bell is still renowned for its warm hospitality and stylish accommodation. This small hotel prides itself on providing the personal service and professional care which ensure that every stay is a memorable occasion. The individually furnished bedrooms are attractive and spacious. All have en suite facilities and views of the River Stour or the ancient streets and rooftops of Sandwich.
