Classic architecture, fine wine, gourmet food - these are what France has always been famous for. Now a new item has been added to this list: world-class golf courses. To the great surprise of many, France is home to more than 500 golf courses - the most of any country in Continental Europe! These include 12 in Europe's top 50!

The courses are spread throughout France, however there are two areas in particular which we believe offer the best mix of golf and French culture - they are Bordeaux/Biarritz and Provence/Cote d'Azur.

The Aquitaine region which includes Bordeaux and Biarritz is one of Europe's premier vacation regions. As well as featuring some of the best of French golf, it is home to quaint villages, vast vineyards, beautiful beaches and top level hotels and resorts.

Provence and the Cote d'Azur are synonymous with the French philosophy of enjoying life to the full or "joie de vivre". This area offers an interesting combination of mountain and seaside golf, all within easy reach of world-class vacation destinations such as Cannes and Monte Carlo. When you are finished playing golf, why not stop off in Paris on the way home and enjoy a couple of nights in the "City of Lights"?
