Lake Como Area | Maggiore Area

From experience, we know that where you stay is as important as where you play golf. The Golf Travel Co. offers a wide selection of hotel options throughout the Italian Lakes district to satisfy our clients needs. Where available, we try to offer a range of options. Please note that all hotels we use include private bathrooms. All hotels are regularly inspected by The Golf Travel Co. to insure a consistent level of quality and service. Our Golf Tour Specialists will discuss your options and recommend the appropriate hotel for your vacation. In order to assist with your hotel selection please find a brief description of each category we use:

FIRST CLASS: Properties in this category generally have fewer amenities but are comfortably furnished, have a quality level of service and are considered a great value. The hotels are 4-Star rated.

SUPERIOR FIRST CLASS: All accommodations in this category are Superior 4-Star rated and have an even higher level of service and some additional in room and hotel amenities.

DELUXE: Hotels in this group provide the highest level of service, superb room furnishings and offer the most on-site amenities. They are predominantly 5-Star.

The accommodations we offer have been selected for a variety of reasons. Most notably, they consistently receive high marks from previous The Golf Travel Co. travelers. In addition, the accommodations are ideally situated near the golf courses and the hotel staff understand the special needs of the golf traveler. Regardless of your choice we know you will enjoy the hotels as much as the golf.

Lake Como Area

First Class

Hotel Barchetta Excelsior (Como). Ideally situated in the center of Como, the majority of the Hotel Barchetta's 84 rooms look out over Lake Como itself. Hotel residents can choose from it's two distinct restaurants, both of which feature Mediterranean cuisine with local specialties and a rich wine list. The Panoramic restaurant offers dining in an elegant ambience, while the Bistro is ideal for a quick lunch. All rooms at the Hotel Barchetta are equipped with air conditioning, mini-bar, satellite TV and radio.

Hotel Metropole & Suisse (Como). Located in the heart of the town main square, and directly on beautiful Lake Como, the Hotel Metropole & Suisse can boast four generations of Cassani family ownership. Established in 1892, this historic hotel was recently renovated and offers a wide choice of hotel rooms and suites, many with a view of the lake. Hotel amenities include room service, telephone, air conditioning, satellite TV, mini bar, bar/lounge and the wonderful 'Imbarcadero Restaurant' – featuring the best of regional and international cuisine – in the formal dining salon or outside on the summer lakefront terrace.

Superior First Class

Grand Hotel Imperiale (Moltrasio). Set overlooking Lake Como in Moltrasio, just north of the town of Como, the completely restored Grand Hotel Imperiale, offers its service to those people who choose to spend their vacation in a special atmosphere. Rationalist architectural lines merge with classical elements in an early 20th century building, so creating a harmonic elegance richly combined with functionality, room, light and colors. Peace and vitality – find them both together in the beautiful swimming pool, in the wide garden, in the intimacy of your room. Have an aperitif at 'Bar Della Regina,' then enjoy a superb view and a delicious meal while sitting on the panoramic terrace of the 'Imperialino' Restaurant or facing the broad picture glass doors of 'Il Giardino' Restaurant.

Hotel Villa Flori (Cernobbio). The history of the Hotel Villa Flori goes back many years – in fact, for over a century the villa was owned by several Lombard aristocrats and it was only transformed into a hotel by its present owners in 1958. Situated a short distance from Como, it overlooks the splendid panorama of Lake Como. The hotel stands in a beautiful private park full of age old trees where Marquis Flori, the original owner of the villa, used to boast that he could grow orange and lemon trees without the need of glasshouses. The hotel's fifty rooms have terraces with views over the lake and are equipped with TV and mini bar; each is furnished with style and enjoys a unique panorama – the calm waters of Lake Como and the beautiful surrounding park. Most of the public areas of the hotel have also been renovated and no detail has been ignored – from the careful restoration of Venetian stucco decorations and wall frescoes to the new and more modern technical efficiency.

Deluxe

Grand Hotel Villa d'Este (Cernobbio). Set on the shores of Lake Como, the Grand Hotel Villa d'Este is located in one of the most important crossroads between Italy and Northern Europe. This ancient 16th century villa is surrounded by a 10-acre private park and gardens. Each room features antique furnishings, air-conditioning, a marble bathroom, jacuzzi bath, mini bar, satellite TV and a safe deposit box. Lake Maggiore Area

First Class

Grand Hotel Bristol (Stresa). Surrounded by a beautiful Mediterranean garden, the Grand Hotel Bristol looks out over Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands and is just a short walk from the center of Stresa. Most of the 230 rooms offer a wonderful view over the Borromean gulf and the three islands as well as the Monte Rosa mountain range. All rooms have satellite TV, mini bar, air conditioning and a balcony. Both Italian and international cuisine are served in the restaurant overlooking the lake. Hotel facilities also include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a sauna, solarium, tennis and free parking.

Superior First Class

Hotel Regina Palace (Stresa). The Regina Palace is an elegant hotel facing Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands. It's 175 rooms are well equipped with satellite TV, mini bar and many extras. Among the other hotel amenities are a fitness center with a sauna and jacuzzi and a heated swimming pool with a pool side 'creperie' and snack bar. The 'Charleston Restaurant' is a must for connoisseurs of fine dining.

Deluxe

Grand Hotel Des Iles Borromees (Stresa). Set in verdant parkland, this luxury palace hotel (circa 1861) has spectacular views of Lake Maggiore. Fully refurbished in 1995, it's 172 large comfortable rooms are well equipped with all of the modern amenities you would expect to find in a hotel of this caliber. Relax on their private lakefront beach or enjoy superb cuisine in one of the choice of excellent restaurants.
