From experience, we know that where you stay is as important as where you play golf. The Golf Travel Co. offers a wide selection of hotel options throughout Spain to satisfy our clients needs. Where available, we try to offer a range of options. Please note that all hotels we use include private bathrooms. All hotels are regularly inspected by The Golf Travel Co. to insure a consistent level of quality and service. Our Golf Tour Specialists will discuss your options and recommend the appropriate hotel for your vacation. In order to assist with your hotel selection please find a brief description of each category we use:

SUPERIOR FIRST CLASS: Most accommodations in this category are 4-Star rated and have a high level of service, with a wide choice of in room and hotel amenities.

DELUXE: Hotels in this group provide the highest level of service, superb room furnishings and offer the most on-site amenities. They are predominantly 5-Star. 

The accommodations we offer have been selected for a variety of reasons. Most notably, they consistently receive high marks from previous The Golf Travel Co. travelers. In addition, the accommodations are ideally situated near the golf courses and the hotel staff understand the special needs of the golf traveler. Regardless of your choice we know you will enjoy the hotels as much as the golf.

The following information highlights many of our featured properties. We also utilize a number of other hotels throughout Spain when appropriate to the individual clients' needs.

Marbella Area

Superior First Class

Guadalmina Golf Hotel (near Marbella). The Guadalmina Golf Hotel is located 10 minutes outside of Marbella. This excellent property is ideally situated on the seafront and surrounded by 36 magnificent holes of golf. Guests have the added advantage of being able to tee off just outside the hotel. The panoramic views from the hotel encompass a large part of the coast as well as Gibraltar and the North African coast. The Hotel was recently refurbished, the beautifully decorated rooms are spacious and comfortable with spectacular views overlooking the sea or the golf course. All rooms are equipped with a mini bar, air conditioning, safety deposit box, radio and a new interactive television system.

Deluxe

La Cala Resort (Mijas). In the spectacular hinterland between Mijas Costa and Marbella, surrounded by green rolling hills, you will find La Cala Resort. With a 5-Star hotel, two magnificent 18-hole golf courses and a David Leadbetter golfing academy, La Cala Resort is one of the most complete and successful golf resorts in Europe. Opened in 1996, the attention to detail is apparent throughout the resort and everything is of the utmost luxury. All rooms are exquisitely designed in traditional Andalucian style and have magnificent views of La Cala South golf course. The resort completes its offer with two excellent restaurants: La Teraza in the hotel and Los Olivos in the clubhouse. Both restaurants have delightful views of the golf courses where the diner may indulge in the finest selection of national and international cuisine.

Hotel Puente Romano (Marbella). A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, the Puente Romano is a 5-Star grand luxury hotel and has been voted one of Spain's top hotels. The hotel is located on a superb beachfront property in the heart of Marbella's famous 'Golden Mile', renowned as the international playground of Europe. Uniquely constructed in the style of an Andalucian village, it is set in a relaxing sub tropical oasis of fountains, waterfalls, lush gardens of flowers, rare plants, birds and trees.

Marbella Club Hotel (Marbella). Located on the southern coast of Spain, right in the heart of the well known 'Golden Mile', between Marbella and Puerto Banus, stands the luxurious Marbella Club Hotel. There are many hotels that offer extreme comfort, fine food, excellent service and first class accommodation. There are few that have that indefinable quality that makes your visit an experience that you will remember forever. Sotogrande Area

Deluxe

San Roque Suites Hotel (Sotogrande). The San Roque Suites Hotel is situated in Spain's premier golfing region of Sotogrande, fondly known as the 'Golden Golfing Triangle.' The hotel was host to the American and European teams for the 1997 Ryder Cup at Valderrama and is a 'stones throw' away from some of Spain's, and indeed Europe's, most famed championship golf courses.

Hotel Almenara (Sotogrande). Destined to be one of the finest retreats in Europe, the new Almenara Hotel opened on September 1st, 1999. The 4-Star Hotel is situated on a hill top location with commanding views over the surrounding new Almenara Golf Course and Mediterranean Sea. The Hotel Almenara is built on an exclusive residential resort just 10 minutes from Valderrama Golf Club and in traditional Spanish style making the most of one of the highest points on the 2,000 hectare estate, overlooking pine and cork trees towards the sea, with lakes and the Almenara hills as a backdrop.

Montecastillo Hotel & Golf Resort (Jerez de la Frontera). Built overlooking it's own Jack Nicklaus designed course, Montecastillo Hotel offers an impressive mix of world class golf and 5-Star luxury.
